Lupina graduated in Business Administration from CUNEF, where she was awarded a grant for academic merit, highlighting her expertise in the business and finance sector.
She worked full-time in banking for a while, first in New York and later in Madrid, where she dedicated a few years to the world of treasury and commercial banking. She eventually joined IDEON as a partner, as head of the finance consultancy area.
Lupina Iturriaga’s career led her to be an expert in financial planning early on, and this, together with her entrepreneurial skills, led her to found Fintonic in Spain.
FINTONIC was born in late 2012, and was a success for those who wished to take advantage of new technologies applied to the simplification and control of personal finance. It is a disruptive company, mainly due to the way in which it communicates and relates to its users.
Nowadays, over 450,000 users are making use of the application. It offers information in a neutral, objective way so that anyone can take the best decisions on his/her money and savings, and also contract products directly from a mobile device.
The usefulness of Fintonic and its efficiency in managing personal finance meant it was awarded the First Mobile Innovation Award of the Google Finance. Lupina herself was also recently recognised by Instituto Choiseul, including her in the "100 Economic Leaders for Tomorrow" ranking, a report that identifies the 100 young talents with the greatest projection in Spain (2017 and 2016). The select Blackbox By Google Entrepreneurs programme chose her to participate in its event in San Francisco, together with entrepreneurs from all over the world. In recent weeks she has been nominated among the 500 most influential women in the Yo Dona list (2017 and 2016)
She was distinguished with the Star of the Region of Madrid for business value in 2017, the highest award granted by the region (March 2017) for outstanding people whose effort, perseverance, commitment and passion play an important part in our society.
